Arrival Instructions

Cairo International Airport lies about twenty kilometres northeast. Depending on traffic, the trip takes between forty five minutes and one and a half hours. The hotel travel desk organises transfers, and Uber or Careem cars are available at the terminals at fixed application prices, which avoids negotiation with airport taxi drivers.

Sphinx International Airport, about thirty kilometres west, receives some domestic and low cost international flights and is convenient for the Giza side. Its connections are fewer, so checking the specific flight is necessary.

The metro is an efficient alternative to Cairo traffic. Line 2 stops at El Bohoth station in the south of Mohandessin, connecting to Tahrir Square and Giza, and the newer Line 3 branch toward Cairo University has a stop in the Gameat El Dowal area, useful for reaching downtown and Ataba. Women can use the dedicated carriages, and tickets cost very little.

For trains to Alexandria, Luxor and Aswan, Ramses station is roughly twenty to thirty minutes by car. Sleeper trains to Upper Egypt depart in the evening from the Giza station on the west bank, which is closer to the hotel.

Within the city, ride hailing applications are the easiest way to move. Uber and Careem are cheap, set the price in advance and remove disputes. White taxis still work but meters are often unused, so agreeing the fare before departure is advisable.
